The vulnerability scan traditionally searches for vulnerabilities in your IT landscape
Security gaps in the network, endpoints and the cloud are lurking every day. In corporate networks, new attack surfaces can emerge month after month due to newly installed programs, configured plug-ins and services, and you can quickly lose track when it comes to security. With our IT security scan service, or vulnerability scan, you are on the safe side. With our know-how, combined with professional tools, we proactively uncover vulnerabilities, software defects, missing updates, malware and misconfigurations—and remediation follows immediately.
The external scan can be started directly after your go-ahead. For the internal scan, an internal user is created in consultation with your IT department, from which all clients are systematically scanned, whether local or decentralized. This enables m.a.x. it to test externally or internally, fix issues, provide recommendations and, depending on requirements, create detailed reports. Benefit here too from our many years of experience, because we know exactly which levers to pull, how systems need to be configured, and how to detect and defend against attacks.
Vulnerability Scan
What does the approach look like in practice?
There are various approaches:
- m.a.x. it scans externally
Regular testing of all websites and all public IP addresses for vulnerabilities from the outside. Where are the attack surfaces? You receive a detailed report that raises the alarm in the event of security gaps and directly suggests recommendations. The cleaned-up report meets certification requirements from various bodies. - m.a.x. it tests internally
This means m.a.x. it logs into the corporate network as an internal user, like an employee, and tests all workstations and IT equipment in the company for vulnerabilities from the inside out.

Is a vulnerability scan mandatory?
First of all, no, there is no obligation to do so. However, the BSI IT-Grundschutz in OPS.1.1.3 states that IT operations must regularly inform themselves about vulnerabilities. Likewise, more and more companies are requiring regular audits from their business partners. Ultimately, cyber insurance providers are also pleased when you check your infrastructure for gaps.
How much does a vulnerability scan cost?
This question cannot be answered as a flat rate; a simple external scan of your IP addresses or websites starts at EUR 495 for up to 16 IPs or pages.
An internal scan, in which our software acts like a local user, requires more effort and precise coordination with you. Here we start at EUR 995, depending on complexity.
